Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role requires strong diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems while maintaining strict adherence to safety and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various heavy equipment, ensuring they function properly to minimize downtime
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical system issues within a timely manner
• Execute assigned work orders accurately and efficiently, meeting established timelines
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Collaborate with team members to support workflow efficiency and minimize equipment downtime
• Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and apprentices on proper repair and maintenance techniques

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on hydraulic and diesel repair experience (required)
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must supply own tools
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs., climbing equipment, bending, kneeling, and working in extended overhead positions
• Possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
