Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial operations at a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy in plant-level accounting, inventory management, and cost analysis. The Plant Accountant will partner closely with operations, supply chain, and finance leadership to deliver accurate reporting and provide insights that drive efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy of general ledger entries, reconciliations, and plant-level reporting.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Prepare and analyze cost variances (standard vs. actual) and identify key drivers.
• Support accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and overhead/labor rates.
• Perform monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, and variance reporting.
• Provide plant-level financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by supplying operational cost data.
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve cost efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and partner effectively with operations teams.
