Job description
Objective
We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team in Manhattan. The successful candidate will assist client companies in their efforts to understand the US market, define the strategy to enter it and implement this strategy.
Responsibilities and tasks
· Actively participate in promoting Catalonia as a strategic destination for North American investors and technology companies.
· Manage and expand the office’s network of contacts (mainly investors, institutional stakeholders, companies, accelerators, innovation hubs, and universities) to facilitate foreign direct investment into Catalonia.
· Collaborate with other ACCIÓ offices in the United States and with the team in Barcelona to develop joint actions aligned with the agency’s global strategy.
· Compile and contact lists of US distributors and partners for our clients with the goal of facilitating successful business partnerships.
· Research and analyze the target market to help clients define the best strategy to enter the US market.
· Perform market research, elaborate databases and provide industry information relevant to the client’s goals.
· Coordinate meetings and handle logistics for trade missions and clients visits to the US.
· Work with start-ups clients to help them find partners, business contacts and/or investors in the US.
Position Requirements
· A bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in business-related fields.
· 3 years of work experience in related fields.
· Customer focus; organizational and analytical skills; ability to develop effective relationships; strong team working; good understanding of tech trends, highly motivated and result oriented.
· Oral and written communications skills in Spanish.
· International exposure is a plus.
· Availability of travel on occasion.
Candidate must have the ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship.
