Collects and organizes geospatial data. Performs analysis of GIS data to inform staff and stakeholders of challenges related to Facilities operations and Clemson's campus. Designs interactive GIS content to explore collected data in user friendly, visual fashion. Provides technical support and training related to GIS to staff and partners. Other duties as assigned.
50% - Essential - Map Creation and Visualization:
Designs and produces detailed maps and visual representations that communicate spatial data effectively. Creates maps, dashboards, apps, and other interactive GIS features that allow customers to explore managed data layers, perform spatial queries, and gain insights in an immediate, visual fashion. Produces reports and presentations that aid leadership and stakeholders with strategic planning and decision-making.
20% - Essential - Spatial Analysis:
Performs examinations of geographic data to identify patterns, trends and relationships to address complex problems related to Facilities operations. Uses tools and techniques analyze challenges related to Clemson's campus, including resource management, infrastructure planning, risk assessment, environmental impact assessments related to projects, land use optimization, and route optimization.
20% - Non-Essential - Data Collection and Management:
Collects spatial data from various sources including aerial imagery, GPS, and existing map info in support of Facilities operations. Organizes and maintains accuracy of comprehensive datasets. Verifies information via field surveys, performing as needed and collaborating with departmental GIS users where appropriate.
10% - Essential - Technical Support and Training:
Assists Facilities staff with the collection, management, and analysis of spatial data. Participates in meetings with points of contact from each department to discuss GIS needs. Provides training sessions and workshops on best practices, including how to leverage the full capabilities of available GIS software, hardware, and software. Aids staff in the creation of interactive maps, managing large-scale geospatial data, and the use of mobile apps for data collection and real-time updates. Plays key role in ensuring users are effectively integrating GIS into everyday workflows to enhance productivity and spatial data accuracy throughout the Facilities organization.
Education - Associate's Degree in a related field or a high school diploma and relevant work experience.
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
