Job Description

Fresh2U Transportation was founded in 2016 as a means of transportation for horticulture products for its sister companies, Green Circle Growers and Express Seed Company, as well as the public. From there, Fresh2U Transportation saw a need to create a logistics team and therefore Fresh2U Logistics began operations in 2018. Fresh2U Logistics operates as an authorized broker of property by planning how goods will get from one place to another within the horticulture industry.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Driver Operations Coordinator is responsible for optimizing fleet performance, supporting Drivers and ensuring operational compliance. A key part of this position is serving as an expert in the Fleet Management System. This role will oversee the fleet management platform to track performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and increase overall fleet utilization while being a knowledgeable contact for drivers during their shift. This role requires a hands-on, data-driven individual with a CDL Class A and a strong understanding of fleet operations and driver experience. This position operates on a Monday–Friday schedule from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM to provide real-time support during peak hours.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Act as the company’s go-to expert for the Motive fleet management system. Monitor metrics, generate reports, and provide insights to improve fleet safety, efficiency, and compliance
  • Proactively assign unassigned miles and identify opportunities to fully leverage the internal fleet
  • Serve as the main point of contact for drivers, providing timely and effective assistance while they are on the road
  • Process and issue Comdata checks as needed for driver reimbursements, fuel advances, and emergency payments
  • Ensure consistent and appropriate follow-up with drivers to address issues, provide updates, and maintain operations
  • Manage fleet licensing, registration, and ensure compliance with CSA and FMCSA regulations utilizing software
  • Track and analyze MPG performance across the fleet and implement strategies to improve fuel economy
  • Stay current on transportation market trends, fuel pricing, accessorial charges, and other industry benchmarks
  • Prepare and send load tenders promptly and accurately
  • Oversee and coordinate the pickup of carts to ensure operational efficiency
  • Assist in onboarding and training new hires including physically driving with trainees to assess skills, provide coaching, and model expectations
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive delivery information database to support drivers in the field. Ensure all delivery instructions, site-specific notes, and customer preferences are accurately entered, regularly reviewed, and updated as needed to improve delivery efficiency and reduce on-road delays
  • Adhere to and actively promote company safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Communicate with outside carriers as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • CDL Class A is required
  • Prior experience using a fleet management system required
  • Prior dispatch or fleet operations experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to drive with new hires on the road as part of a hands-on training program
  • Strong knowledge of fleet operations, driver support, and transportation compliance
  • Familiarity with CSA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations
  • Proficient in analyzing MPG, performance metrics, and operational data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and/or verbal communication skills
  • This position will work from 12:00pm – 9:00pm Monday – Friday
  • On call weekends on a revolving schedule required

  • May require ability to operate machinery, drive vehicles (truck, car, van, tug, forklift), or use equipment such as hand tools, computers, or general business equipment
